Introduction to Product Safety
At Bolatti Hat Co., product safety is an integral part of our craft. All hats are designed and produced with careful attention to material selection, construction methods, and intended use, in accordance with the EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988, effective from December 13th 2024. Our objective is to ensure that every product placed on the market is safe, durable, and suitable for everyday wear under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions.
Risk Assessment and Safety
The design and construction processes of our hats have undergone through an internal safety assessment. This assessment considers foreseeable risks related to materials, construction, finishing, and normal use. Where appropriate, risks are mitigated through design choices, construction techniques, and clear user guidance. Bolatti Hat Co. hats possess no known risks to health, personal safety, or the environment.
Materials are sourced exclusively from within the European Union and selected for their suitability, quality, and compliance with applicable EU standards. No known hazardous substances are intentionally used in the manufacture of our hats, or its components.
Product Safety Notices:
Hats: Hat band is flammable — keep away from flame and heat sources.
Storage case: Flammable — keep away from flame and heat sources. Avoid breathing any combustion vapours as those include formaldehyde and are highly toxic.
All our hats are traceable with a unique serial number annotated at the back of the sweatband, over a white tape that is sewn in place. Please note this number for reporting and traceability purposes.
Intended Use
Our hats are designed and manufactured exclusively for adult use as personal apparel accessories.
They are intended to be worn in everyday environments and are not designed for:
Protective or safety functions
Use by children under the age of 16
Exposure to open flames, extreme heat, or hazardous conditions
Use outside of these intended conditions may present safety risks.
Product Care Instructions
Proper care contributes to both the longevity and safety of the product.
For dust removal, gently brush the crown and upper brim in a counter-clockwise direction, and under brim in a clockwise direction (this is the direction of the hair nap) as needed. Use a clean horsehair brush.
Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or heat sources. Allow hats to air dry naturally if damp, on a flat surface and for snap brim models please make sure the brim is up.

Packaging Safety
Our packaging is designed to protect the product during transport and storage.
Packaging materials are not intended for reuse as toys or wearable items and should be kept away from children. Any protective elements used for shipping should be removed and disposed of responsibly as per local regulations before use of the product.
End of Life Product Disposal
When a product reaches the end of its usable life, it should be disposed of in accordance with local waste and textile disposal regulations. Where possible, components such as the fur felt hat body, the silk liner and sweatband may be separated and recycled or repurposed in line with local guidelines. Our hats are built for a lifetime of use, so if you no longer use your hat, please consider donating it for re-use.
Recall and Reporting Procedures
In the unlikely event that a safety issue is identified after a product has been placed on the market, appropriate corrective measures will be taken promptly. This include customer notification via email, listing the affected products below under the “Active Recalls” list, and product withdrawal, repair, replacement, or recall, depending on the nature of the issue.
